Jeremy served seven years in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, including a deployment to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004–2005. During that deployment, he earned the Combat Infantryman Badge. He later served as a team leader and squad leader, trained and evaluated soldiers, and was trusted to perform duties above his rank.

That experience reinforced lessons he carries into public service today: prepare thoroughly, listen carefully, take responsibility, and put the mission ahead of yourself.

Since 2014, he has owned and operated Guza Law Office, representing clients in criminal and family matters across Southeast Wisconsin. As a small-business owner and courtroom attorney, he learned to manage complex caseloads, make difficult judgments, communicate clearly, and treat every person with dignity.

His work included jury trials, motion hearings, sentencing proceedings, negotiations, working with expert witnesses, and detailed review of police reports, body-camera footage, forensic evidence, medical records, and constitutional questions.
